Leizel's Garden Gallery 2009 metal print by Leizel Grant. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. In 2006 Leizel's goal was to construct a unique and aesthetically-pleasing art gallery in her garden, out of which she would sell her own artwork as well as other local artists' works. Primarily built out of recycled building materials, it is 192 sq. ft., has a tile floor, limestone countertops, alder shelves, curved plexi-glass skylights, and a cedar shingle roof and porch.
Set in beautiful Skagit Valley, Washington, just a few miles away from the salty waters of the Puget Sound, it is surrounded by hundreds of acres of tulip fields and has a stunning backdrop of the snow-capped North Cascade Mountain range.
About Leizel Grant
From the very beginning, being surrounded by warm salty air, surfing on green glassy waves, walking through soft waving grasses, and exploring trails through lush, storytelling trees defined Leizel's idea bliss, and set the bar of inspiration for everything to come... Leizel Grant was born in South Africa, and immigrated to the U.S. with her family in 1986. She attended school in Washington State, where she began drawing detailed charcoal portraits of Africa's wild animals. While still in elementary school, her environmental concern and ecological awareness led her to win first place in a contest for which her design was chosen to be the city of Mount Vernon's official recycling logo.
